There are literally dozens and dozens of best honeymoon vacation spots in Europe and so it may be tough to decide exactly where you want to go. While you won’t find much in the way of an all inclusive honeymoon in Europe, if you do a little online research and book early, you can get some great package deals. Also, if you are honeymooning in the off season that can save you a lot of money as well.
Of course, just being in Europe with your new spouse will be romantic and you can take advantage of a lot of free activities without blowing your budget. Food and lodging will be your greatest expenses so if you are on a tight budget you might want to take in the sights that are either free or don’t cost a lot of money. Depending on where you go, you may want to explore some famous landmarks and of course, if you honeymoon in Venice, you’ll have to go on a gondola ride.
If your European honeymoon takes you to Paris, you’ll want to walk along the Champs Elysees and stop in at one of the sidewalk cafes. Of course, there’s the Eiffel Tower and no trip to Paris would be complete without a visit to this famous landmark. While just seeing the Eiffel Tower is monumental, if you go to the top you will be treated to a breathtaking view of the City of Light.
If you’ve always wanted to honeymoon in a castle, you might want to check out the Chateau d’Esclimont. Situated just a few minutes from Paris, you’ll be treated to stunning scenery as you drive there. The castle, which is surrounded by a moat, also offers hot air balloon rides complete with dinner. You can also rent canoes or bicycles or just stroll along the impressive grounds.
While Paris is among the top honeymoon vacation spots, there are many other romantic destinations in Europe that will ensure you have a romantic and fun honeymoon. It is a good idea to check travel websites and look for specials. You may also want to read online reviews, which can be especially helpful when contemplating staying in hotels abroad. Surprisingly, some of the most expensive European hotels lack amenities that many Americans would consider crucial so no matter how great the place sounds, do as much research as you can before booking any honeymoon vacations in Europe.
